With a thousand years of history behind it, the Castle of Joux, built at the entrance of the Pontarlier gap, lets us discover a whole range of colourful characters and is a real open air museum of military techniques.
The Glacière Cave is a surprising phenomenon and is marked by the exploitation of its "white gold" over several centuries and has a rich abundance of fascinating geological and paleontological (fossils) features. It also possesses an amazing collection of minerals from all corners of the globe.
Situated in Ronchamp, Haute-Saône, the Chapel of Notre Dame du Haut is a world-famous building, designed in 1955 by Le Corbusier, one of the greatest architects of the 20th century. It is of major significance for contemporary Sacred Art and an inescapable architectural masterpiece.
As one of Vauban’s major masterpieces, and now magnificently restored, the Citadel of Besançon is considered to be one of the most beautiful in France. Its fortifications are included in the list of UNESCO world heritage sites. It is a cultural and tourist mecca and houses, among others, a zoological garden, the Museum of Resistance and Deportation and the Comtois Museum.
